Cobb Corner Eye Care Health and Safety Precautions

Cobb Corner Eye Care continues to be committed to the safety and wellness of our staff and patients during these unprecedented times. With the new phased approach to re-opening the state, we have developed and implemented policies and procedures designed to keep our doctors, staff and patients as safe as possible. Our phased approach to re-opening was based on guidance from the CDC, American Optometric Association as well as state and local officials.

Our precautions are as follows:

  • While we love spending time with our patients, in-office visits will look and feel very different now. Visits will be more focused and will limit face to face time with the doctor to minimize exposure risks.

  • We have adjusted our schedules to reduce the volume of patients we are seeing and will limit the number of providers to ensure patients do not have to spend any extra time in the waiting room.

  • We have further increased our extensive cleaning efforts and provided ample time between patients to ensure rooms are disinfected.

  • All patients and staff will be pre-screened for signs and symptoms of COVID-19.

  • Upon entering the office, all patients and staff will have their temperatures taken with a no-touch thermometer and will be asked to sanitize their hands.

  • Please be sure to arrive to your appointment on time. Once you arrive, please remain in your car and call the office to let us know you have arrived.

  • In the past, we have welcomed your family and friends to join you in your eye exam and selection of eyeglasses but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we ask that only the patient comes into the appointment. Children can be accompanied by one parent/guardian. Any patient who will require an aid can have one person with them at their appointment.

  • All staff members and patients will be required to wear a surgical mask to your appointment. Unfortunately, cloth masks, masks with valves, scarves, bandanas and masks with filters cannot be used. If you do not have a surgical mask, please let us know and we can provide one for you for $2.00. All profit from the sale of masks with be donated to the Lions Club.

We appreciate your cooperation during these challenging times. We will continue to closely monitor guidelines as they change in the upcoming future.
